What I Loved: I picked up Doodletopia Cartoons for my eight-year-old artist and we were both highly impressed. I was won over by the simple breakdown of each cartoon. Hart includes tips along the way, but the drawings aren’t hidden among the instructions. There was a nice mix of categories here. Hart not only shows you common cartoon characters but also demonstrates a variety of facial expressions. You’ll also find a section where you complete the other half of the drawing and a section on finishing the scene. But my favorite is the section where he takes one body shape and shows you how to create two different animals out of it.
Rating and Recommendation: You’ll find hours upon hours of entertainment in Doodletopia Cartoons. I’m giving it 5 stars and I recommend it for anyone who loves to draw or is hoping to learn.
